“Clapton Is God” was a favorite tag of London graffiti artists in the mid-1960s. And while it has never been proven one way or another, Eric Clapton is no doubt a guitar god given his long history of pioneering work in the fields with the Yardbirds, Cream, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, Delaney & Bonnie, Derek & the Dominoes and his eponymous solo career. In recent years, Clapton tours the world and also MCs his annual Crossroads Guitar Festival where leading lights of the guitar scene congregate and jam for thousands of fans.
