The band came together in 2011 when former Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson joined forces with guitarist Neal Casal, keyboardist Adam MacDougall, bassist Mark Dutton (replaced by Jeff Hill in 2016), and drummer George Sluppick (replaced by Tony Leone in early 2015). The band is currently based in Marin County, California and its various members are regulars at Terrapin Crossroads, Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh’s restaurant/bar and live music venue in the city of San Rafael 45 minutes north of San Francisco.
