Chris Whitley

Guitarist and singer Chris Whitley died in 2005 at the age of 45 after a short but brilliant career during which he produced more than a dozen albums and inspired millions of fans with his combination of blues/slide guitar and poetic lyrics. Known for his authenticity and intensity, Whitley got his start busking on the streets of New York before being “discovered” by producer Daniel Lanois and subsequently recording his powerful debut album Living with the Law in New Orleans with Malcolm Burn and Dougie Bowne.
